In this scholarly journal, they are discussing the previous injuries that have recently occurred to professional snowboarders. There are proven facts that injuries among competitive snowboarders are higher risk than those of leisure. More and more are undergoing knee and back injuries than the normal wrist injury. Out of 258 athletes competing in 3193 total competition days, 135 consisted of acute injuries. In the test conducted, the severity of one of the snowboarders’ injuries was based on the length of time it took to recuperate. Again, Snowboarding can be a dangerous sport.

This scholarly journal discusses the importance of helmets for skiers and snowboarders. They conducted a test to see whether snowboarders and skiers would wear, helmets based one if it was offered in a rental package. As the years progressed, more and more people wore the helmet. They believe that through education, and better loaner programs, they can hopefully decrease the amount of head injuries from skiing and snowboarding. It is smart to wear a helmet because snowboarding can be a dangerous sport.

This scholarly journal discusses an issue in which a patient had crashed and injured his self. He had fallen and broke several vertebrae in his spinal cord. From this accident, he became diagnose with central cord syndrome Klippel-Feil Syndrome. He cannot feel various upper extremities in his body. Crashing hard and/or landing on your neck can be very bad. Snowboarding is nothing to mess with, it can be a dangerous sport.

Bibliographic Annotation: This website talks about the injury called the “snowboarders ankle.” With the increase in snowboard popularity, more people are injuring themselves with this injury and they are being diagnosed only to have a sprain. Its symptoms are that of a sprain, but the damage is far worse. There is a little crack in the ankle and it must be fixed by wearing a stiff medical boot. They recommend you protect yourself with the proper safety gear before snowboarding. This further proves that snowboarding can be a dangerous sport.
