This scholarly journal discusses an issue in which a patient had crashed and injured his self.  He had fallen and broke several vertebrae in his spinal cord.  From this accident, he became diagnose with central cord syndrome Klippel-Feil Syndrome.  He cannot feel various upper extremities in his body.  Crashing hard and/or landing on your neck can be very bad.  Snowboarding is nothing to mess with, it can be a dangerous sport.
