This scholarly journal discusses the importance of helmets for skiers and snowboarders.  They conducted a test to see whether snowboarders and skiers would wear, helmets based one if it was offered in a rental package.  As the years progressed, more and more people wore the helmet.  They believe that through education, and better loaner programs, they can hopefully decrease the amount of head injuries from skiing and snowboarding.  It is smart to wear a helmet because snowboarding can be a dangerous sport.
